TURNING POINT IN HISTORY
The " I Had A Dream" Speech influenced how African Americans were going to be treated in the future. The speech was written about a dream the Martin Luther King Jr. had. The speech made a very good point about racism. Parts of his speech read "Five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. But one hundred years later, the negro is still not free." This quote is saying that even after slavery was ended that African Americans still aren't treated in ways that Whites are treated. Another example of how the "I Have a Dream" speech influenced how African Americans were treated in the future was that it united African Americans to fight for one cause. That cause was to free themselves from the chains of segregation.
